The Pipeline Training Company (PTC) was formed by the three companies who carry out pipeline inspection on behalf on National Grid. Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, PTC offers training courses for those with the desire and aptitude to work in the modern technical environment with a commitment to safety and training.
BGAS Approval Scheme
The British Gas Approval Scheme (formerly known as ERS) was inaugurated in Killingworth, Newcastle in 1966. The schemes objective is to assess by examination the knowledge and suitability of inspectors to work on British Gas Projects. The scheme is primarily designed for inspectors involved in one or more of a number of activities related to gas pipelines.
Since 1966 inspectors have taken the exams and have benefited from holding approvals which are recognised throughout the oil and gas industry on a worldwide basis.

The BGAS/CSWIP Approval Scheme is administered by TWI on behalf of National Grid under the auspices of a Management Committee.
Previous knowledge or an understanding of the pipeline industry is essential.
